Talented and Gifted Academy
The Talented and Gifted (TAG) Learning Academy at West Side Elementary provides kindergarten through fifth grade students a global, academic program designed to uncover and develop the unique talents and gifts of all students. The focus of this program is on developing the various aptitudes and potentials for advanced learning and creative productivity that exist in all student populations.

Avoid The Rush… Get Back-to-School Immunizations Today
Children entering kindergarten, or those who are new to Georgia this school year will need an Immunization Certificate, Georgia Form 3231 and a Dental, Vision and Hearing Form 3200. Additionally, children entering the 6th grade need two doses of chicken pox vaccine, if they have not had chicken pox disease and, two doses of MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella). Cobb & Douglas Public Health offer vaccines to protect children and prepare them for school. More»

Marietta City Schools (MCS) classes begin Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010. Pre-registration dates/times and Pre-opening/open house activities dates/times vary district-wide. The MCS Transportation Department hosts their annual "Kindergarten Kruise" Tuesday, Aug. 10 during regularly scheduled route times. More»
West Side Kindergarten Parent Open House, Aug. 10
West Side Elementary Kindergarten parents are invited to an information session hosted by Principal Lawson, followed by a visit with individual teachers in their classroom. Teachers will share their expectations, classroom procedures, and answer questions regarding Kindergarten at the school.

Kindergarten Kruise, Aug. 10
The Marietta City Schools Transportation Department hosts their annual "Kindergarten Kruise", Tuesday, Aug. 10 for elementary students and their parents. Buses run during regularly scheduled route times, and any elementary student, regardless of grade, can ride the bus with their parent. Parents and students are returned to their original pickup location upon completion of the route.
